Having been granted funding from both the Arts Council and Fingal Arts to research, write and produce a piece of theatre that shines a light on the autistic experience, I am looking to talk, collaborate, celebrate, promote and work with other autistic artists. Writers, actors, directors, producers, theatre makers, set designers…I want to build and develop connections with the autistic art community and would love to hear from people that are interested in doing the same.

As a writer, I try to work from a place of unconscious. As a result, my writing has largely —and sometimes unintentionally— addressed themes of identity and isolation and memory. Of the stories that I have written, the ones that I am most proud of and the ones that I return to often are the stories that came closest to describing the confusing and othering world that undiagnosed autistic people experience. Since I received my own diagnosis, my writing has developed even further in this area and now, even more than before, it feels vital and chaotic and necessary. When creating work I now try to explore the autistic experience in a way that, while not outwardly or obvious, still feels honest and real.
